WIRRAL University Teaching Hospital (WUTH) supported over 1,000 cancer patients in 2024.
This was achieved through its Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service (MCISS), which provides tailored support for each patient.
The announcement was made as part of their activity on World Cancer Day 2025, today (Tuesday, February 4).
A stall was set up within Arrowe Park Hospital's foyer to promote awareness of cancer risks, prevention, and early detection.
Information on the wide range of services provided by the Trust's Macmillan team was also shared.
These services include benefits advice, grant applications, and emotional and workplace support.
(Image: Supplied) Anne Torkington, Macmillan Information Manager at WUTH, said: "Cancer is more than just a diagnosis; it's a deeply personal experience.
"Our role is to provide compassionate, practical, and emotional support to help people navigate their journey in the best way possible."
The MCISS team is a vital part of ensuring no one in the community battles cancer alone.
They are located on the ground floor of Arrowe Park Hospital, offering advice and support from Monday to Friday.
