A LESIURE centre in Wirral has reopened following “safety concerns”.
Leasowe Leisure Centre, based on Twickenham Drive, has been closed since Tuesday, January 22 due to extreme weather conditions causing safety concerns.
The week-long closure came after the borough was hit with several weather warnings for snow, storms and rain earlier this month which caused damage to the building.
A spokesperson said that the centre had to remain closed due to “ongoing maintenance repairs”.

On Tuesday (January 30) the Leisure Centre announced on social media that it would be reopening from today (Wednesday, January 31).
A spokesperson said: “We are delighted to reopen and welcome everyone back to Leasowe Leisure Centre from tomorrow, Wednesday 31st January 2024. Our usual programme of activities and facility hire will be available from 7.15am.
“We thank you for your patience whilst essential maintenance work has been carried out and look forward to seeing you on Wednesday.”
