A young girl was hit in the face by a bottle thrown from the away section at Goodison Park following Everton's match against Leicester City at the weekend.
Merseyside Police say the incident occurred at the end of the game on Saturday (February 1) and have launched an appeal for witnesses.
A statement on the force's website today (Tuesday, February 4) read: "The six-year-old girl was uninjured but understandably left distressed by what happened.
"Our enquiries are ongoing and we are working with both clubs to identify the person responsible.
