Man in hospital after being rescued from roof in Liscard

A man was taken to hospital for precautionary checks after being rescued from a roof of a house in Liscard during an incident this morning.

Emergency services were called to a house on Chatsworth Avenue at around 10am.

Two fire engines, Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service's search and rescue appliance, an aerial appliance and several ambulances attended.

The man, who is believed to have had a medical episode on the roof, was rescued from the scaffolding by firefighters and ambulance crews and taken to hospital for precautionary checks.

A spokesperson from Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service said: "Crews were alerted at 10.01am and on scene at 10.05am. Two fire engines attended as well as the search and rescue appliance and an aerial appliance.

"Firefighters worked alongside NWAS to assist the casualty – who was on scaffolding at roof level of a property – into the cage of the aerial appliance before transporting them to ground level.

"Once safely on the ground, the casualty was handed into the care of NWAS and taken to hospital for further precautionary checks. Fire crews left the scene at 11.19am."
