OUR dog of the week, Bert is looking for a loving home home and needs your help.

The six-year-old Greyhound, currently a resident at Dogs Trust Merseyside, is described as 'a friendly boy who loves to be around people so he is looking for a home where he can be at the heart of a family'.

He is an ex-racer but is said to have quickly settled into his foster home and is loving life.

Georgina Lowery, manager at Dogs Trust Merseyside, said: "Bert has been through quite a lot since arriving around a month ago.

"He needed some teeth removing which has now been done. He coped brilliantly and was not at all bothered by going to the vets.

"He is a really gentle soul who loves affection so we’re hoping that he finds the forever home he deserves really quickly."

Bert loves having canine companions when he’s out and about on walks but he would like to be the only dog in the home. He can live with children aged twelve and over.
