Two women, both aged 20, died and a 28-year-old man was seriously injured in a crash.
Emergency services scrambled to the A5117 near to Parkgate Road near Ellesmere Port at 9.28pm on Thursday, November 25, following reports of a serious crash.
Once officers and the North West Ambulance Service arrived at the scene they found a blue BMW and a silver Citroen had crashed on the road.

The driver and passenger in the Citroen, two 20-year-old women from Connah's Quay and Greenfield, died at the scene.
A 28-year-old man driving the BMW was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
The women's next of kin were informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
At the time of the crash the road was closed in both directions by officers.
Police are now appealing to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or might have dashcam footage that could aid the investigation.
A spokesperson from Cheshire Police said: "Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a fatal collision near Chester.
"At 9.28pm on Thursday 25 November police were called to reports of a collision on the A5117 near to Parkgate Road.
"Sadly the driver of the Citreon, a 20-year-old woman from Greenfield, and the passenger of the Citreon, a 20-year-old woman from Connahs Quay, were pronounced dead at the scene.
"The driver of the BMW, a 28-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
"Enquiries in relation to the collision are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone with any dashcam footage which may aid the investigation."
