Two more arrested after teenage dad stabbed and killed

Two more people have been arrested after teenage dad Kyle Whitley was stabbed and killed.

The 18-year-old died after being knifed in the chest on Vincent Road, in Litherland, on Easter Monday.

Shortly after Kyle was taken away from the scene, a 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder.

He was later released on conditional bail but Merseyside Police have now confirmed that two others are currently being investigated over the fatal stabbing.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the force said: "We have today, Thursday 16th April, arrested a second 17 year-old male on suspicion of murder following a fatal stabbing in Litherland on Bank Holiday Monday April 13.

"The male is currently in custody where he is being questioned by detectives.

"A 23 year-old man arrested yesterday, also on suspicion of murder, also remains in custody.

"In total three people have been arrested in connection with the murder.

"We are continuing to appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident, which took place on Vincent Road, at 2.30pm, to contact detectives as they may have information which is vital to the investigation."

Touching tributes have poured in for popular Mr Whitley whose son is just seven months old.

Friends and loved ones across Merseyside have also and described Kyle as "a beautiful soul" with a "cheeky smile".

Jessica Howard said: "Kyle was a amazing. A beautiful soul who brought laughter to the room in the darkest of times.

"I shall never forget how kind he was to me and I am fortunate to have called him my friend."

Jo Pinnington also said: "So sad. Such a lovely boy.
