Peaky Blinders was forced to stop filming back in March over coronavirus fears.
Posting on social media at the time, producers announced that the show was to be postponed until a later date.
The crime drama, which films many scenes in Liverpool, had been set to return to our screens for a sixth series later this year.
Creator of the show, Steven Knight, previously confirmed he had boxed off writing the script and in January, a leaked image showed episode one's script – titled Black Day – in all its glory.
Peaky Blinders has been shot in Liverpool since 2012, with filming locations including the Welsh Streets, the Tobacco warehouse at Stanley Dock, the State Ballroom on Dale Street and in Port Sunlight.
In March, a spokesman for the series tweeted: "After much consideration, and in light of the developing situation concerning COVID-19, the start of production of Peaky Blinders Series 6 has been postponed.
He added: "Huge thanks to our incredible cast and crew, and to all our amazing fans for their continued support."
