Three arrested after woman, 34, found dead at Wirral house

THREE people have been released on bail as part of an ongoing investigation into the unexplained death of a woman in Rock Ferry.

At around 5.50pm on Wednesday, January 29, police received a report from North West Ambulance Service that a 34 year-old woman had been found dead inside a home on Rock Lane West.

It is believed the woman had been subjected to an assault at around midday the previous day, Tuesday January 28, in New Ferry and was seen injured near to the Cleveland Arms pub.

Merseyside Police say enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of what happened.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained and the cause of death has been withheld pending further enquiries.

A 33-year-old man from Rock Ferry has been arrested on suspicion of murder and section 18 wounding with intent, a 53-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and a 62-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

All three have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Inspector Phil Ryan said: "We are in the early stages of our investigation and are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances of the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.
