Third murder suspect appears in court following death of Warren Glover

A third murder suspect has appeared in court following the death of a man in St Helens.

Warren Glover, 33, who is believed to have come from Liverpool, suffered a serious head injury following an assault at around 10.15pm, in French Street, at its junction with Thompson Street, in Thatto Heath on Saturday, June 13.

He was taken to hospital, but sadly passed away on Tuesday, July 7.

Melissa Stubbs, 28, today (July 23) appeared at Liverpool Crown Court after being charged with murder.

Two men, Peter Walker, 30, of Garth Road, Manchester and Aaron Stubbs, 30, of Lane End Road, Manchester have also been charged with murder.

Walker and Aaron Stubbs appeared in court last week and were remanded in custody to next appear in August.

A 41-year-old man from Stockport, previously arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent, has been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
Earlier this month a 54-year-old woman was also interviewed under caution in connection with the incident and remains under investigation.

Melissa Stubbs, of Lane End Road in Manchester, appeared today in the dock wearing a black puffa jacket and glasses before Judge Neil Flewitt, QC.

Chris Taylor prosecuted in the case and Ian Whitehurst was defending.

Stubbs was remanded in custody and will appear alongside her co-defendants in August.

Mr Glover's family described the 33-year-old as a "much loved and loyal" dad.

In a statement they said: "As a family, we are heartbroken and truly devastated with the loss of Warren.

"He was a genuinely kindhearted and caring dad who adored his family and friends.

"He was much loved and loyal; his fun, genuine and empathetic character will be sorely missed by all who knew him especially his mum."
