A teenager 'on his way to the gym' on his bike was chased by three youths also on bikes, with a knife.
The disturbing incident happened at around 10.05pm yesterday in the Wallasey area.
It was reported that the teen was riding his bike on Leasowe Road, when he was chased by three males also on bikes, with one of them in possession of a knife.
They were described as around 15 years old and all wearing dark clothing.
One of them was riding a burnt orange coloured bike and the other two were dark coloured.
They were last seen on travelling in the direction of Ponsonby Road.
Posting on a community Facebook group, the victim's mum told how her son had been "riding to the gym" when the incident happened.

She wrote how thankfully her son had been able to get away from the gang but he had "learned the hard way, that shortcuts in the dark are not the best".
The mum added: "Why are kids going out with a knife? However small!!"

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "The victim made off and was unharmed, but was left shaken by the incident."
