The borough of St Helens is out of the top ten table of the highest Covid infection rates, but the area still has an infection rate of more than 200.

According to the latest data from Public Health England , the rate per 100,000 people in St Helens is 216.5, which makes it 18th in the table of 315 local authorities in England. The full list of the 215 places is at the end of this story.

In the week ending February 21, there were 391 cases in St Helens in the last week, which is 83 fewer cases than in the previous week. It means St Helens's latest figures show cases are down 17.5 per cent week on week.

Rates have dropped in the other five individual areas of the Liverpool City Region for the 39th day in a row – as well as the LCR overall itself.

The rates are falling fastest in Knowsley. The rate per 100,000 people in Knowsley is 157.8 for the week ending February 21. There were 238 cases in the last week, which is 140 fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week on week change dropped by 37%.

In Halton, there is an infection rate of 120.5 for the week ending February 21. There were 156 cases in Halton in the last week, which is 73 fewer cases than the previous week. This means the week on week change dropped by 31.9%.

In Sefton, there is an infection rate of 124.5 for the week ending February 21. There were 344 cases in Sefton in the last week, which is 118 fewer cases than the previous week. This means the week on week change dropped by 25.5%.

Wirral's infection rate is still lower than the national average. There is an infection rate of 103.1 in Wirral for the week ending February 21. There were 334 cases in Wirral in the last week, which is 74 fewer cases than the previous week. This means the week on week change dropped by 18.1%.

In Liverpool, there is an infection rate of 154.2 for the week ending February 21. There were exactly 768 cases in Liverpool in the last week, which is 167 fewer cases than the previous week. This means the week on week change dropped by 17.9%.

In the overall LCR, there is an infection rate of 131.02 for the week ending February 21. There were exactly 2,231 cases in Liverpool in the last week, which is 655 fewer cases than the previous week. This means the week on week change dropped by 22.7%.

While England has an infection rate of 116.87 for the week ending February 21. There were 65,782 cases in England in the last week, which is 9,539 fewer cases than the previous week. This means the week on week change dropped by 12.7%.
