A further six people who tested positive for coronavirus in Wirral NHS hospitals have died.
The deaths, reported today by NHS England, occurred on April 13 & 21 and two each on April 24 & 26, taking the total number of Wirral NHS Hospital Covid-19 deaths to 158.
In England, another 552 deaths have been confirmed today – an increase on yesterday – bringing the total number of reported deaths in hospitals across the country to 19,301.
Patients were aged between 31 and 99 years old. 38 of the 552 patients (aged between 36 and 99 years old) had no known underlying health condition.
The North West was the worst affected region today, accounting for 107 of the fatalities.
Their families have been informed.
