Roads marked to thank NHS staff

Front line care staff will be reminded of the gratitude Wirral offers them every time they go to work, after plans to paint messages of appreciation on roads were given the green light.

L&R Roadlines Ltd, are working with Wirral Council to help mark several hospital sites around the borough with a message to thank NHS workers for their ongoing efforts during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The new road markings, installed free of charge, will help to provide a daily reminder to all staff at these sites of the huge amount of thanks and gratitude the whole borough is showing towards them, as they continue to look after and keep the community safe.

Road markings have been installed at Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge Hospitals.

Simon Fox, Commissioning Services Manager at Wirral Council, said: “During this uncertain time, the council has continued to work with L&R Roadlines Ltd as they provide essential works to help protect the safety of our residents.

“I am really pleased that this local company has offered to help us to further deliver messages of thanks to the fantastic NHS staff working tirelessly to help protect the borough’s community.

“The current ongoing situation is one in which we all need to come together and support one another. I am proud to work with partners that continue to not only provide key work to help keep essential services running but help to thank others in the community, who are also keeping residents safe.”

Wirral residents continue to acknowledge care staff with the weekly Clap for Carers each Thursday at 8pm.
