A road has been closed after a man suffered a head injury.
Merseyside Police were called to the bridge on Sefton Road in Litherland at 11am after a people became concerned for the safety of a man in his 40s. It was then reported that the man had walked towards Field Lane and injured his head after falling.
Emergency services are at the scene and an ambulance took the man to hospital. Field Lane is currently closed and police have asked motorists to avoid the area.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "Just after 11am today, Monday November 13, we were called to a report of a concern for the safety of a man on a bridge on Sefton Road in Litherland. It was further reported that the man in his 40s then walked towards Field Lane and sustained a head injury during a fall.
"Emergency services are currently at the scene and the ambulance has taken him to hospital. Road closure is in place, we ask motorists to please avoid the area."
