Ram raiders struck at a high-end fashion store in Southport town centre last night.
Police were called to Flannels in Tulketh Street at 10.18pm yesterday (Friday) after it was reported a vehicle smashed into the shop front.
The offenders stole what was described as a "quantity of clothing" before making off from the scene.
This morning the area outside the store was cordoned off by police.
Part of the shop's frontage was boarded up with a large amount of smashed glass on the pavement outside.
Flannels store manager Grant Tindell posted on his Facebook page: "Thanks for everyone's messages last night regarding the shop being raided.

"Not a great evening as you can all imagine.
"It was a very long night and I think it’s going to be a very long day today."
A Merseyside police spokesperson said: "A vehicle was used to damage the shutters and offenders made off with a quantity of clothing from the store. A crime scene has been established."
It was announced in December that Flannels was to open a huge flagship store in Liverpool city centre with seven floors and a rooftop restaurant.
The 120,000sq ft venue in the former Owen Owen department store building in Parker Street – which has been vacant since previous occupants Tesco and Sports Direct moved out – is due to open in the autumn of this year.
