Police are hunting for a gunman after a man was shot in the leg in a "targeted" street attack.
Merseyside Police were called to Millwood Court, Speke, at 8.05pm yesterday after receiving reports that a man had been shot. Life is yet to return to normal in this quiet corner of Speke with homes cordoned off while police carry out investigations.
Through the fence surrounding Millwood Court, a forensic specialist could be seen inspecting the outside a house which is cordoned off. Merseyside Police confirmed the shooting took place in the street.

Neighbours waking up to the scene this morning said they were unaware of what had happened. One man who wished to remain anonymous said: "I haven't got a scooby what happened. All I know is I woke up and the police were outside."
The cordon stretches outside Millwood Court to the surrounding houses on Alderfield Drive which a spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "Is part of ongoing inquires into the investigation."
In a statement, Detective Chief Inspector Paul McVeigh said: “We are in the early stages of the investigation, however this appears to be a targeted attack. Fortunately, the man’s injuries are not life threatening.
The statement continues: "The community will understandably be concerned by this incident, but please know that we are doing everything in our power to find the person responsible."
Merseyside Police are inspecting CCTV from the area in a bid to identify the person responsible. The police are urging anyone who witnessed the shooting or has any information about the incident to contact police.
