Police ask people to avoid area following concerns for man's safety
People have been urged to avoid the area
A city centre street has been cordoned off this evening following a concern for a man's safety. Emergency services were called to Renshaw Street just after 6.20pm today, Friday, March 14.
Two fire engines, two ambulances and multiple police cars including unmarked cars are in attendance at the scene. Police said surrounding roads, including Heathfield Street, are also currently closed while emergency services deal with the incident.
ParkBee multi-storey car park is reportedly closed, with people on the street unable to get to their cars. Police at the scene said the car park will be closed to drivers for at least two hours.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm that at around 6.20pm today, Friday 14 March we received a report of concern for the safety of a man on Renshaw Street in Liverpool city centre.
"The surrounding roads are currently closed while emergency services deal with the incident. We ask that the public avoid the area and find an alternative route. We thank you for your patience as we deal with this incident."
