Piers Morgan’s possible GMB replacements as Kate Garraway returns

Piers Morgan revealed he is taking a summer break alongside Susanna Reid from Good Morning Britain.

The outspoken TV host said he would be back in September, after enjoying some time off.

This comes as Kate Garraway confirmed her return to the show following her husband's ongoing battle with coronavirus.

Kate bravely returned to the Good Morning Britain studio yesterday to discuss her future plans.

She said: “I’m back. It’s really emotional. As soon as I walked in I thought, ‘I’m going to cry now’.

"It’s so lovely to see your faces. I can see your faces anyway [on screen]. It’s lovely to be back, it’s like coming out of a little bubble of sadness. It’s so strange to still be in this situation."

Kate will return to present Good Morning Britain on Monday and Tuesday next week, alongside Ben Shephard.

She added: “I’m going to come back, I’m afraid. I’m going to come back on Monday if you’ll have me. You two are going [off for the summer], I’m coming back. I’m not sure I’ve got the fight to be with Piers Morgan. I’ll be with Ben Shephard."

Announcing her return to work, she said: “I’ve got to get going, I’ve got to come back. I don’t want to make it sound like I’m Mother Teresa or anything, everyone’s having to do that, I’m not special or different, everyone’s having to get on with sadness and loss.

Ranvir Singh and Charlotte Hawkins are also expected to fill in for Susanna.

Ben is so far the only confirmed stand-in for Piers, but Adil Ray and Richard Madeley are likely to feature heavily on the show.
