A person has died after being hit by a train at a station in Warrington.
British Transport Police were called to the railway line at Padgate on Saturday, November 18 at around 1.13pm following reports of a person on the tracks. Once officers and paramedics attended the scene they found a casualty at the station.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the person died at the scene. A spokesperson from BTP confirmed the incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

A spokesperson said: "Police were called to Padgate Station at around 13.13pm on Saturday (18 November) following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
A number of trains between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester were delayed or cancelled as emergency services attended the scene on Saturday.
