This was the ecstatic moment a lorry driver from Bootle became a millionaire.
Lucky Geoff, 50, pocketed the huge sum after his horse was first past the post in the Imperial Cup at Sandown racecourse this afternoon.
And the Sefton man said the cash would help fund a new house extension after his home was broken into three months ago.
The dad added how losing his son to cancer, eight years ago, aged just 18, felt like his big win was "meant to be."
And he still plans to keep working on the lorries, but maybe with a reduced three-day week.
Geoff was part of Paddy Power's Millionaire Chase beating several finalists who were each represented by a horse in today's big race.
After winning a qualifying race to enter the final, scooping £10,000 in the process, he was drawn on Langer Dan who was an impressive 5/1 winner – moving up to take the lead at the final hurdle.
Geoff said: "It's amazing what it'll do for our life.
"We lost our son eight years ago to cancer when he was just 18 years old, this is a life-changing amount of money and it felt like it was just meant to be."
"I love racing, but I couldn't tip a winner.
"I couldn't pick my nose normally!
"I felt like the coolest man in the world until about midday and then I was massively nervous.
