A man who climbed onto the roof of Liverpool Crown Court sparked a standoff with police in the city centre.
Officers were called to Derby Square at around 5pm on Tuesday to reports of a man on the roof.
Three police cars arrived at the scene as witnesses reported seeing a man wearing a black puffer coat, a black Hugo Boss cap and a mask over his face.
A number of people also told the ECHO that they could hear "smashing" coming from the roof as police attempted to talk to the man.
Shortly before 6pm, the man came down from the roof and was led by police through the courts and out the front door.
Pictures taken at the scene show a smashed window on the first floor of the court, close to where the man was standing on the roof.
The man was handcuffed before being placed in one of the waiting police cars outside the building.
An officer then wheeled a bicycle, that had been abandoned close to the youth court entrance, towards their vehicles.
It is believed to have belonged to the man on the roof but it is not yet know whether he had been involved in a case at the court today.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police confirmed to the ECHO : "Officers were called to Derby Square, Liverpool this afternoon (4 August) at around 5pm to reports of a man on the sheltered roof of the Liverpool Crown Court building (outside main entrance).
"The man has since come back inside and is speaking with officers."
