A man was rushed to hospital after he was rescued from mud on the Wirral coast .
The emergency services were called out to Manor Groyne area near Wallasey at around 4.10pm on Thursday following reports that a man was in difficulty on the beach.
Police, fire, ambulance, Wirral Coastguard and Hoylake RNLI all attended the scene.
A spokesperson for the coastguard told the ECHO that a man thought to be in his 60s was stuck in mud. He was rescued by the fire service and then taken to hospital by ambulance.
Information on his condition was not available.
Following the rescue, a witness who says she alerted the coastguard to the incident, took to Facebook to praise those who help free the man.
In a post, the woman praised the work of the Wirral Coastguard team and their fast response to help the man.
