A man is fighting for his life after being hit by a car in Liscard.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Parkfield Road and Mill Lane at around 12.30pm on Monday following reports of a serious collision involving a pedestrian and a Peugeot.
The man was taken to hospital via ambulance and is believed to be in a critical condition.
A cordon was in place along Mill Lane, diverting traffic and pedestrians, while police made door-to-door inquires and inspected the area of the crash.
The air ambulance was also called to the scene and is believed to have rushed the man to hospital by air.
The cordon remains in place and people are being asked to avoid the area while the investigation continues.
A police spokesperson said: “We can confirm that emergency services are in Wallasey following a serious RTC this afternoon, Monday, April 5.
“At around 12.30pm, officers and the ambulance service were called to Liscard Road to reports of a collision involving a Peugeot car and a male pedestrian.
“The pedestrian was taken to hospital via ambulance and is believed to be in a critical condition.
“Enquiries continue and a road closure is in place on Liscard Road, between Parkfield Road and Ashburton Road. Please avoid the area where possible.
