Love Island’s Michael gets huge Liverpool tattoo on his chest

Love Island alum Michael Griffiths has got a huge tattoo of the Liverpool skyline inked across his chest.

The Scouse firefighter shot to fame after starring in the fifth series of Love Island which aired in 2019.

The reality star is no stranger to ink and has multiple designs adorning his body – but his latest tattoo was a homage to his home city.

Michael got his latest tattoo at Liverpool parlour, Gentleman George's Tattoo Parlour, which is based on Castle Street.

The design showcases famous Liverpool landmarks, including the Liver Building, Radio City Tower and many of the iconic buildings which make up the city's impressive skyline.

Michael revealed it took six hours for the design to be completed on his chest.

Michael shared a glimpse of his new tattoo on his Instagram stories.

Posting videos to his Instagram stories, Michael said: "Six hours done and I'd like to say it didn't hurt but that would be a lie. Thanks to the main man himself @neil_hargeavestattoo for the latest piece."

He has yet to share a photo to his Instagram page.

Michael experienced controversy during his stint in the famous villa, after giving that year's winner Amber the cold shoulder when he recoupled with Joanna – and viewers were unimpressed with his treatment of Amber.

When Michael and Joanna found themselves in the bottom three, the other Islanders chose to save Michael over Joanna, and after telling her he had "found what he was looking for" he didn't leave with Joanna and she called him a "snake".

This summer's Love Island was cancelled in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
