'I was stood there in the middle of it all'
An audio description of the incident from an unnamed witness has been circulating.
The account, which hasn't been verified, is from a man who claims "I was stood there in the middle of it all".
Like the police, he says that no one got stabbed, but describes a brawl.
In his account, he claims: "People were throwing bottles at each other on the street but no one got stabbed."
The unnamed witness also addresses one of the striking images from the video, which the ECHO has chosen not to show, in which a man appears to bleed from the neck.
"He was bleeding from his ears and the way he was lying the blood dripped out of his head and his ears onto his back so that's why it looked like that. I was there so I know no one's got stabbed."
The witness also says it was a clash between a group of St Helens men and Scousers.
Claiming "it was a case of mistaken identity", the witness says that the Liverpool group had previously clashed with a Mancunian group inside, but when the St Helens lads descended from the building, "the Scouse lads started to shout things at them".
