Presenter Holly Willoughby has penned her emotional farewell to This Morning crew and viewers as she leaves the show for the summer.
The popular television personality and her co-host Phillip Schofield are stepping down from their roles for a summer break.
They have been the main presenters of the successful breakfast show since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic and have worked with producers and crews to ensure the show remained on air during the crisis.
But now, the presenting team will be absent from the show until September.
Television favourites Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have been confirmed as their replacements.
ITV relaunched This Morning in 2009 with a new set and with Holly Willoughby replacing Fern Britton as co-host, alongside Phillip Schofield.
Holly took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt farewell ahead of her break.
Posting a picture of a neon sign reading the words "thank you", Holly said: "Thank you …. thank you for staying with us over the last 109 days…
"When we began this new way of broadcasting, we had no idea how long we would be able to come in, or whether it would be our last time broadcasting from the studio during lockdown.
"The team have adapted and had plan a, b, c and d in place just in case…Some days we didn’t know If we’d have the content to fill the show, but somehow we always managed it and even had a few laughs along the way.
"You see us, but we feel that you are there with us, every single show… @thismorning holds a mirror up to life and reflects the mood of what we are all feeling."
Holly went on to pay special tribute to the production crew and team working on the show.
