OPERA SINGER can win the Qatar Nassau Stakes (Fillies & Mares) (British Champions Series) (3.35pm) on the third day of the 2024 Qatar Glorious Goodwood Festival.

Aidan O'Brien's three-year-old can go one better than in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot last month and win the Group One on day three in Sussex. The daughter of American Triple Crown hero Justify has rarely run a bad race and proved herself to be a top-class filly. Three wins as a juvenile ended with success in the Group One Qatar Prix Marcel Boussac at ParisLongchamp. She was expected to take high rank in the Classics but a delayed return saw her wait for the Irish 1,000 Guineas, where she was an excellent third behind Fallen Angel and A Lilac Rolla. She ran another fine race but found Porta Fortuna just too good in the Group One Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot. She steps up to 1m2f for the first time and that may enable her to land a first Group One of the season. She takes on her elders but gets an 8lb weight for age allowance which should be enough to see her triumph.

O'Brien and jockey Ryan Moore may have already had a winner as JAN BRUEGHEL can boost his Classic claims with victory in the Group Three John Pearce Racing Gordon Stakes (3pm). The three-year-old son of the late, great Galileo can triumph on the way to a possible crack at the final Classic of the season, the St Leger at Doncaster in September. Galileo has currently sired more than 100 Group or Grade One winners and as one of his few remaining offspring, Jan Brueghel could easily add to that on Town Moor. First though, Jan Brueghel – who was unraced as a juvenile – needs to build on his two victories in this Gordon Stakes. But judged on his success in the Group Three Al Basti Equiworld International Stakes at the Curragh, he should do so. That was over 1m2f and this step up in trip to 1m4f, and the potential further trip of the Leger, could bring out the necessary improvement to see make it three wins from three starts.

JUNGLE MAC may give trainer Jack Channon a Glorious Goodwood victory in the HKJC World Pool Handicap (5.55pm). The three-year-old has only been out of the first four once in his 11 career starts so far, although he has only won twice. After finishing second at Chester in June, he landed a first victory on Turf at Newmarket just over a week ago. And now he's got back to winning ways he may be able to eke out another success.

Another Wathnan Racing colt, MIDNIGHT GUN, can win the opener on day three, the Coral Kincsem Handicap (1.50pm). The Hamed Al Jehani-trained three-year-old won for the first time on his third career start at Nottingham over a mile in May. He followed up in good style at Newmarket last month and looks to be progression well now he has found the winning touch. And he looks sure to continue to improve now stepped up in trip to 1m2f and can bring up a hat-trick of wins

Clive Cox's APARAJEO, can win the Group Two Markel Richmond Stakes (Colts & Geldings) (IRE Incentive Race) (2.25pm). Trainer Cox has won this six-furlong contest twice in recent years with Golden Horde and Supremacy, who both won at Windsor before triumphing at Goodwood. Aparajeo, the son of Invincible Army, also scored at the same Berkshire track on his debut a couple of weeks ago. The speedy colt made all there and won well beating favourite Bold Impact. He can build on that to score.

George Boughey's EL BURHAN can bring up a hat-trick of victories in the Jaeger-Lecoultre Nursery Handicap (4.10pm). The New Bay, who was fourth on his racecourse debut at Newmarket in May, got off the mark when stepped up to seven furlongs at Yarmouth later that month. He followed that up with a wide-margin success in a Novice Stakes at Beverley. He looks a progressive juvenile and despite carrying top weight can land the treble under Jim Crowley.

Kate McGivern's KENDALL ROY can back up his recent win at Cork with another in the Buccellati Handicap (4.45pm). The three-year-old gelded son of Twilight Son has has a good season, winning four times and finishing second twice, mostly in Ireland. He can continue his fine form and land another success in the five-furlong sprint.

STELLENBOSCH can get off the mark in the Tatler British EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes (GBB Race) (IRE Incentive Race) (5.20pm). The Richard Hannon-trained Wootton Bassett filly has been third on her two starts so far, over six furlongs at Newbury and seven at Newmarket. She has shown promise and this seven-furlong contest looks a good opportunity for her to break her duck at the third attempt.
