LCR Pride Foundation is offering grants of up to £1,000 to community-led projects supporting the LGBT+ community in the Liverpool City Region.

This comes in light of the second round of grassroots funding from the charity's three-year partnership with Barclays.

The grants aim to remove financial barriers that might hinder the development of initiatives.

Past recipients of the LCR Pride Foundation Community Fund include Wirral Little Movers, which unites LGBT+ families through fitness classes and activities in Wirral.

Another beneficiary was Sefton Women’s and Children’s Aid, which set up a dedicated service to support LGBT+ victims of domestic abuse in Sefton.

Andi Herring, CEO of LCR Pride Foundation, said: "As evident in the work carried out by previous recipients of the LCR Pride Foundation Community Fund, community-led initiatives go a long way in making the Liverpool City Region more inclusive and supportive of our LGBT+ communities.

"We hope the fund can be used to overcome financial barriers that may usually prevent a project from developing.

"If you have an idea that you think can address the needs and challenges of LGBT+ people in the region, we would love to hear from you."

The foundation encourages applications from underrepresented groups and those working in the wider boroughs.

Andrew Websdale, Barclays UK Pride Lead, said: "We are delighted to continue our partnership with LCR Pride Foundation and support Liverpool City Region’s LGBT+ community furthermore through the Community Fund.

"This is an opportunity to make real change for LGBT+ people."

The deadline for applications is 5pm on March 13, 2025.
