A four-year-old girl was rushed to hospital after she was knocked over by a car this evening.
Police were called to Salisbury Road in Wavertree at about 6pm following reports a child had been hurt in a collision.
A black Honda car had stuck the girl, leaving her injured.
The North West Ambulance Service attended the scene and she was taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital for treatment.
The extent of her injuries is unclear, but police have indicated that they may not be too serious.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting with enquiries.
Salisbury Road was closed between Laurence Road and Smithdown Road but has now re-opened.
Police have launched an investigation and want anybody who saw the collision to contact them.
