A power cut is affecting residents in several Wavertree streets after a fire at a junction box.
Some residents may be without electricity until around 10pm as engineers scramble to find a solution.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene, where Wavertree Nook Road, Beechtree Road and Heywood Road meet, at around 6.45pm to what appears to be a fire at the junction box, close to a row of shops.

Residents reported seeing smoke from the box rising over the street and the fire service cordoned off the area.
As spokeswoman for the service said officers were awaiting the arrival of engineers from Scottish Power.
A notice on the Scottish Power website said: "There is a power cut in the L15 postcode area of Liverpool, affecting properties in Wavertree Nook Road, Heywood Road and surrounding streets.
"We had no advance warning of this and only became aware of it at 6:48pm.

"Our engineers are on their way to the local area to investigate and repair the fault and our team will work to get your power back on as quickly and as safely as possible.
"We expect the power to be restored by 10pm.
