Every part of the Liverpool City Region sees rise in covid cases

The number of positive Covid tests recorded in the Liverpool City Region shows an increase in cases in every borough.

According to the latest data from Public Health England, Wirral has again seen the biggest rise in cases – the peninsula recorded a 375% week-on-week percentage change increase in the week ending May 30.

While Liverpool recorded a week-on-week percentage change increase of 164%.

The figures for the whole LCR saw a week on week percentage change increase of 126%.

In places close to the LCR border, there was a big rise in cases in Cheshire West with a 681% week on week percentage increase.

Cases also rose in both Warrington and West Lancs.

In England overall, cases are on the up with the nation recording 5,294 more cases than in the previous seven days in the week ending May 30.

Wirral

There were 95 positive tests in the week ending May 30, which is 75 more cases than in the previous week.

Wirral 's week-on-week percentage change increased by 375%. The latest infection rate was 29.32 cases per 100,000 people.

Liverpool

Liverpool had a total of 103 cases in the week ending May 30, which is 64 more cases than in the previous week. This meant the week-on-week percentage change increased by 164%.

The latest infection rate was 20.68 cases per 100,000 people.

Knowsley

There was a total of 26 cases in the week ending May 30, which is 13 more cases than in the previous week.

The latest infection rate is 17.23 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases increased by 100% week on week.

St Helens

There were 37 positive tests in the week ending May 30, which is 18 more cases than in the previous week.

The latest infection rate was 20.49 cases per 100,000 people. The week-on-week percentage change in St Helens increased by 95%.

Sefton

In Sefton, there were 54 cases in the week ending May 30, which is 11 more cases than in the previous week. This means that the week-on-week percentage change increased by 26%.

The latest infection rate was 19.5 per 100,000 people.

Halton

In Halton, there were 11 positive tests over the last week, which is one more case than in the previous week.

There was a week on week percentage increase in cases of 10% in the week ending May 30.

The latest infection rate was 8.50 cases per 100,000 people.

Liverpool City Region

There were 326 positive tests over in the week ending May 30, which is 182 more cases than in the previous week.

This means the week on week percentage change increased by 126%. The latest infection rate is 19.15 cases per 100,000 people.

Cheshire West and Chester

There were 125 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending May 30, which is 109 more cases than the previous week.

The latest infection rate is 36.44 cases per 100,000 people, and there was a week on week percentage increase of 681% in cases.

Warrington

There were 47 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending May 30, which is 27 more cases than the previous week.

The week on week percentage figure increased by 135%. There was an infection rate of 22.38 per 100,000 people.

West Lancs

West Lancashire recorded 19 coronavirus cases in the week ending May 30, which is two more cases than in the previous seven days.

There was an infection rate of 16.62 per 100,000 people, and there was a week on week percentage increase of 12% in cases.

England

England in the week ending May 30, there was an infection rate of 33.57 per 100,000 people.

England recorded 18,896 coronavirus cases, which is 5,294 more cases than in the previous seven days.

There was a week on week percentage increase of 39% in cases.
