Ovidijus Kacarauskas, 32, of Pound Road, Little Sutton, was not at Chester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, November 7, to answer a charge of being drunk and disorderly.

Magistrates, after hearing the prosecution delivered, found the case proved in his absence.

Prosecuting, Lisa Maguire said the arresting police officer was deployed to Meadow Lane at 3.20pm where Kacarauskas was being abusive to members of staff while standing in the middle of the road.

Kacarauskas was handcuffed and asked to provide his name and address. The police officer said Kacarauskas "mumbled" his first name but could not say his surname, and continued shouting in the direction of the car wash staff, making eye contact with one of them, and began calling one of them names.

Kacarauskas was arrested and taken to custody.

The court heard he had two previous convictions for two offences, including one of being drunk and disorderly in 2022.

Magistrates fined Kacarauskas £440, noting that without a guilty plea he would receive no discount on that, plus a £176 victim surcharge and £120 court costs.
