Dog owner kept video of pet receiving sex act from woman

A dog owner kept a video of his pet receiving a sex act from a woman.

Philip Thomas claimed he had no knowledge of the actual incident and was "shocked" after being sent the footage.

The 60-year-old was brought before Liverpool Magistrates' Court after having the video on his phone for "a period of time" and sending the vile clip of the animal abuse to a friend.

The woman in the footage, Sarah Meredith, 41, performed the act for drugs while men laughed in the background.

The video shows two men pinning the black dog and egging on the woman telling her to "keep going".

She yesterday admitted causing unnecessary suffering to an animal at Wirral Magistrates' Court after saying she was "forced" to do it.

Meredith told magistrates that in a separate incident she was the victim of a heinous crime, resulting in a mental breakdown and a relapse into drug use.

After the relapse, she claimed she performed the act on the dog when the men said they would give her drugs.

Thomas was also due in court yesterday but failed to show.

The dog owner, of Beckwith Street, Birkenhead, today admitted possessing the extreme pornographic image.

District Judge Paul Healey noted in today's hearing that Thomas has a "lengthy record", but it has been "some time" since his last conviction.

Anna Duke, defending, explained that the act took place "without consent" of Thomas.

Ms Duke said: "He was not involved in the original incident.

"He was then sent the video which was on his phone.

"He opens it, sees what it is and doesn't delete it straight away and it is on his phone for a period of time."

Ms Duke told the court that Thomas admitted sending the video to someone else out of shock.

She said: "He was shocked himself to find out what has happened to his dog."

The case was adjourned until September 29 to allow for the preparation of a report.

Thomas was released on unconditional bail until that date.
