DJ Mel Reeves slams trolls for cruel taunts about her baby

Liverpool DJ Mel Reeves has spoken out after cruel trolls sent her messages about her baby daughter's weight.

Ex On the Beach star Mel gave birth to her daughter Vienna in May during lockdown and has shared lots of photos and videos of her little girl on social media.

Vienna was 8lb 11 when she was born, with Mel saying in her Instagram caption announcing the birth that Vienna was "One big baby."

But after receiving messages about Vienna's weight Mel decided to speak out on Twitter.

She said: "I find it so so hard to bite my tongue when it comes to trolls.

"It is infuriating that adult men and women feel the need to write nasty comments to people online.

"You wouldn’t walk up to someone in the street and say something mean so don’t say something online.

"Especially when it is from other mothers about my baby. I can’t hold my tongue I want to go in!!!!! Ughhhh."

And her fans were quick to send Mel messages of support.

Tony Hayble said: "Melissa, don't let those mothers get to you; not worth it. They should mind their own business and mother their own children. You are the best mother for your baby."

Ryan Anthony said: "Keyboard Warriors… go be with your gorgeous baby don't let these miserable people make you as miserable as they are in real life."

And @jayyyisadrug said: "You're beautiful and a badass and great mother. I'm pregnant with my first baby and follow you on everything because you're my role model for mommy life. The haters have no idea what they are saying, you're a star girl."

Single mum Mel, 27, has previously shared a breastfeeding selfie and opened up about the struggles of motherhood.

In a revealing selfie shared to her Instagram page she wrote: "I’m probably gonna get a lot of stick for posting this but I don’t really care.

"I post a lot of glamorous pics of me & my baby, but that’s isn’t the reality of motherhood, and I feel like I shouldn’t create a false illusion. Motherhood is hard, it’s worth it but it is hard."

In the snap Mel has her blonde locks swept off her face, wearing a pink bra with a leak mark on it while her young daughter is feeding.

She continued: "This is the reality….Messy greasy hair, dark circles around my eyes, my boobs are veiny, and huge because I was lucky enough for the baby not to wake up much during the night.

"Unlike the night before where I got absolutely no sleep. The sleep deprivation makes me cranky, feel grumpy, and sometimes even emotional."

Addressing the mark on her bra, Mel said: "In this picture my milk has leaked right through my bra because I some how lost my nipple pad in the night I smell like baby sick, and there’s pee on my bed where she decided to pee whilst I was changing her nappy during the night."
