A person was hit by a train on Saturday night causing disruption on the wider Merseyrail network.
The incident, which happened in Chester, was expected to affect services to Liverpool, it was announced by Merseyrail.
In a service update, Merseyrail said: "Due to a person being hit by a train at Chester disruption is expected until 22:00 12/09."
Merseyrail tweeted: "Due to an incident at Chester, the 2058 Chester – Liverpool is running up to 17 minutes late."
The condition of the person hit by a train remains unknown.
