Cyclist, 47, dies after ‘falling from bike’

A 47 year-old man has died after reportedly falling off his bike in a Liverpool street.

Police were called to Boaler Street in Kensington at around 7.30PM on Friday, May 1 where the man was found collapsed beside his pedal bike.

The ECHO understands that the man suffered serious head injuries during the incident.

The man was rushed to hospital but, sadly, he is understood to have passed away on Wednesday morning at The Royal Liverpool Hospital.

Police said there is no suggestion that anyone else was involved and there are "no suspicious circumstances" surrounding his death.

A photograph from the scene of the incident shows a large police presence on Boaler Street on Friday evening alongside ambulance staff and paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "Officers were notified that a man had been found collapsed in Boaler Street in Kensington at around 7.30PM on Friday after reportedly falling from his pedal bike.

"The 47 year-old man was taken to hospital where he has since sadly passed away.

"A file has been prepared for the coroner."
