Coronation Street star Alan Halsall has been inundated with messages from his co-stars after revealing he has undergone major surgery.

The Tyrone Dobbs actor took to Instagram to share a photo of himself from a bed. The 41-year-old wore black clothes as he put both thumbs up towards the camera.

Captioning the shot he said: "ACL Reconstruction surgery. Well, On Friday I underwent ACL reconstruction surgery. I have been told the surgery went really well. I know I have a long 9-12 months of rehabilitation ahead of me but I’m sure with the support of family & friends I’ll get there."

Alan then thanked the hospital he had the surgery at and also thanked his partner Tisha Merry for looking after him during his recovery. He said: "Thank you to the amazing! Staff at Oaklands xx..and also Thanks to my very own nurse Ratched @missdrewmerry93. Any rehab tips or advice??"

His ITV soap co-stars were quick to comment on the post. Colson Smith said: "Get that rested up for Christmas party" Claire Sweeney, who plays his mum on the show, said: "This is great news, glad it was a success xxxx"

Samia Longchambon said: "Rest. Up. Holler if you need some grapes." And Jane Danson said: "Oh Al hope you’re ok love! We’ll all look after you in weatherfield."

Alan has been on Corrie for 25 years and has had multiple storylines during his time on the programme. Thankfully his home life is a lot less turbulent than his one on the street, as he has been with partner Tisha since 2019 and they live happily together.
