City's new playcentre with climbing walls and slime-making stations

The unique centre combines slime and technology for kids

A new kids’ play centre is set to open in the heart of Liverpool. Slimeville, found on Duke Street, is an indoor interactive playground all about slime and creativity.

The number 78 venue offers a variety of games that embrace the messiness and fun of slime-making. Declared a place where "slime rules and boring drools", little ones are set free to craft their own masterpieces, engage in sandy play, go on adventurous quests, scale the unique slime wall, and enjoy gaming with touch-screen technology.

The multi-sensory experience, created by couple Metin and Nevre Arayo, is said to be a first for the city. Founder Nevre told the ECHO: “Slimeville is a one-of-a-kind experience for Liverpool.

"We wanted to create a space where children can not only have fun but also engage in hands-on sensory play that encourages creativity and imagination. It’s entertainment, science, and play all rolled into one.”

Set to open its doors on Tuesday, March 4, families can expect high-tech interactive games, sensory play zones, and a dynamic soft play area. Each session is structured into 90 minutes, with the time coming to an end with custom slime making.

Each guest will select their preferred slime type, clear or white, colour, and scent before heading to the Slime Station, where they can personalize their creation with three fun toppings and accessories. The final 30 minutes allow time to stretch, squish, and explore the slime creations before taking them home as a keepsake.

Trained 'slime masters' will guide visitors through the experience, ensuring that every session is as engaging as it is safe. Given the messiness expected from the slime, sessions will be divided by a 30-minute cleaning break.

Beyond general admissions, the venue is also offering birthday parties, group bookings, and educational workshops. It is said to be ideal for children from three years of age up to 11-years-old. For a session, including one adult and one child, it is £19.90.

Metin said: "My wife and I came up with the idea because we noticed that there aren’t many play centres for children in the city centre. In fact, there aren’t many places at all that combine fun and learning for children.

"A great deal of planning has gone into this concept and we’re really excited to welcome families through our doors — slime, fun and learning, there’s really nothing quite like it anywhere.

”Our mission is simple: to spark creativity, curiosity and giggles through ooey-gooey, hands-on experiences. Whether you’re squishing through our slime zones, crafting your own magical goo or diving into our interactive games, Slimeville is all about making memories that stick literally and figuratively.”

The ECHO will be bringing you a first look inside the play centre once it is completely ready.
