Boy, 13, hit by car on main road

Police went to the scene after receiving reports a child had been hit

A boy was hit on Woolton Road at around 4pm on Friday

A boy taken to hospital after being hit by a car on a main road in Liverpool earlier today. Merseyside Police confirmed officers were called to Woolton Road, near the junction with Cabot Green, at around 4pm today.

The force arrived after reports that a Toyota had hit a child on the main road. Officers arrived to find the driver stopped at the scene and a 13-year-old boy was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Emergency services remained on the scene, with an appeal being made for witnesses.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We received a report of a road traffic collision involving a Toyota and a child on Woolton Road, near the junction with Cabot Green, at around 4pm today, Friday 20 September.

"The driver stopped at the scene. The boy, believed to be aged around 13-years-old, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
