Armed burglars shoot man in face with BB gun in his home

A man sustained an injury to his face after burglars armed with a BB gun entered his property.

Police were called in the early hours of Sunday, June 21 following a report of a burglary and assault.

Around 2.20am, two men armed with the air weapon entered a property on College Street, Leigh, in Wigan.

Police say residents of the property were shot at during the disturbing attempted burglary.

The armed men then left empty-handed.

One man received minor injuries to his face but did not require hospital treatment.

Police have released a CCTV image of the men they would like to question in relation to the incident.

Two men armed with an air weapon entered the property on College Street in Leigh, Wigan and began shooting at residents before fleeing empty-handed.

Detective Sergeant Sarah Bell of GMP'S Wigan District said: "One person was left with minor injuries to the face as a result of this incident and we’re doing everything we can to trace those responsible.

“We have released images of two men we’d like to speak to as part of our enquiries so I would urge them or anyone who recognises them to get in touch.
