Next Saturday, artist Alison Bradley will be launching her latest collection of oil paintings at her gallery in the heart of historic Chester.
The new collection is the culmination of several months’ work over the summer of 2022, exploring the varied coastline of the Wirral Peninsula.
Alison is already well known and well regarded for her extensive Welsh landscape and rural life work, and she has applied her keen eye for atmosphere in her new Wirral pieces. Sunny beach scenes take their rightful place in the exhibition, but Alison also explores reflections in the dark wet sand at dusk in West Kirby and the Three Graces peering through summer mist from the Mersey Ferry. The mix of wide-open natural spaces, recreation, and industry around the Wirral coast is a joy for an artist like Alison, who likes to capture an unusual aspect of a well-known scene.
Alison said, “The Wirral is only a short drive from my gallery in Chester, and I have really enjoyed exploring it this year. The coast is very varied, and the constantly changing weather and tides mean there is always something new to paint. I look forward to coming back again soon”.
