TRANMERE midfielder Sam Foley said there was “no time to feel sorry for ourselves” after the last minute defeat to Colchester meant Rovers lost further ground in the League Two promotion race.
Rovers are now seventh in the table but are only three points off the automatic promotion places with two home fixtures to come.
“We’ve got to restock, take a look at ourselves and go again,” said Foley. “We’ve not got time to feel sorry for ourselves because we’re in a fight for promotion.
“We’ve put ourselves in a great position and we need to take this result on the chin and move on – it will be tough but we have no choice.”
The Colchester defeat was Rovers’ eighth away from Prenton Park contrasted to 14 home victories this season.
“It’s something we’ve tried to look at and pick up more results away from home,” said Foley. “But now we’re at Prenton Park where we know we’ll get that extra support and where the fans have been sensational all season.
“Playing there is something all the boys really enjoy so bring the noise, bring the form and let’s get back to winning ways.
“I’ll look at the season at the end of the season – there’s no point in doing it now.
“We just have to keep winning games and at Prenton Park is a great place to start.”
Foley added that he had enjoyed winning a starting berth against Colchester despite the result.
“It’s a privilege to do this for this football club,” he added. “Whether it’s starting or off the bench – whatever the manager wants me to do I will always give my absolute best and hopefully that rubs off on the longer boys and collectively we can be better.
“The lads are gutted but we have to treat it like water off a duck’s back – that’s all we can do.”
