A Wirral care home has received an 'excellent' rating for its quality of care.

Mariners' Park Care Home in Egremont achieved the top PAMMS rating, a tool used to assess adult social care services.

The 36-bedroom home, on the banks of the Mersey, provides 24/7 nursing, dementia, and palliative care.

The home boasts a dedicated dementia wing, led by specialists who provide support for families affected by all forms of dementia.

It is open for applications from any retiree or person needing care.

The facilities have been refurbished to a "high standard" and include a team of over 60 staff who deliver care and services at a lower cost than most regional residential homes.

The home has received a Gold Investor In People Award for its investment in staff development.

Manager Grace Holley and Clinical Lead Siobhan Napier lead a team committed to fostering a culture of excellence.

The care home also offers a variety of activities for residents, including live entertainment, games, and movie nights.

Head Chef John, with 42 years of experience, prepares three meals a day, including Full English breakfasts and traditional roast dinners.

Director Andrew Jones expressed pride in the care home’s achievements, including multiple finalist positions in the National British Care Awards.

He stated: "The recent Excellent PAMMS rating, and also our Gold Investor In People Award, are great honours and fine examples of the dedicated work we’ve been doing here."
