Detectives have released CCTV images of a number of people they believe can help with their investigations

Every month Merseyside Police release a number of CCTV images that investigating officers believe can assist them in various probes around the region. Officers want to speak with a number of people who they believe could hold vital answers when it comes to solving their investigations.
This month Merseyside Police has released CCTV images relating to the robbery of a 14-year-old boy in Liverpool city centre; four robberies in Tuebrook; a shop robbery in Halewood; an assault on a taxi driver in the city centre; and an assault in Liscard.
As a regional newspaper, the ECHO shares CCTV images to assist with police investigations and help the victims of crime find justice. As well as the gallery below, the ECHO has shared a number of recent appeals regarding the various riots in Southport, Liverpool city centre and Walton that started on July 29 and continued until the following weekend.

CCTV appeal following robbery in Liverpool
Police are issuing images of three males we believe may have information that could assist enquiries into the robbery of a 14-year-old boy in Liverpool city centre. At around 2pm on Sunday, January 19 the teenager was on the fifth floor of the John Lewis Q Park car park on Liver Street near the lifts when a group of around six males approached him.
The offenders demanded he hand over his possessions including his mobile phone, before making off on foot. Detective Inspector Christopher Carlin said: “This was a nasty assault that left the victim traumatised.
“Since the incident was first reported to us, we have made extensive enquiries, which includes reviewing CCTV opportunities and speaking to witnesses. We believe the three males pictured could have information to assist our inquiries. If you recognise them, or you recognise yourself in this image, please get in touch.”

CCTV appeal following robberies in Tuebrook
Detectives have issued CCTV images of a man who could have information that may assist with their enquiries following four reported business robberies in Tuebrook.
The first robbery occurred at round 6.10pm on Sunday, February 16 at a convenience store on Lisburn Lane where a man threatened a staff member and pushed him before taking a quantity of cash. He then fled the shop on foot.
The next day, Monday 17 February, a further three attempted robberies were reported at Go Local shop on Glamis Road, Lisburn Local Express on Craigs Road and MVM Food and wine store on Finvoy Road. No injuries were reported but the victims were shaken by the incidents.
Extensive CCTV and witness enquiries have been conducted, and detectives have issued images of a man they believe could assist in their investigation.

Detective Inspector Steve Street said: “This was a very frightening experience for the victims who were left in a state of shock, and thankfully no one was injured. I am appealing to the man featured in the images, or anyone who recognises him to please contact us. We believe he could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.
“We hope that his appearance, clothing and the distinctive tattoos on his hand will help people to recognise the man and prompt them to contact us. We also encourage people to come forward if you know anything about the robberies which will help with our investigation.”

CCTV appeal following robbery at Formby supermarket
Police have released CCTV images of two men who could have information following a robbery at a supermarket in Formby. At around 8.15pm on Saturday, January 25, it was reported that two men tried to steal a large quantity of razors from Tesco, on Altcar Road.
During attempts to take the items, a security guard was pushed and the two suspects managed to escape without paying. Enquiries have been ongoing since the incident and we are now issuing images of two people who we believe could have information.

CCTV appeal following robbery at Formby supermarket (2)
Detective Constable Alexa Collins said: “This was a brazen attempt to steal a large quantity of items from a shop without paying. In their attempts to flee the scene, they have pushed a security guard and acted in an aggressive manner, which is completely unacceptable.
“Stealing from a supermarket is not a victimless crime and can have an impact on innocent staff members who are just trying to do their job. If you recognise either of these two men, please let us know because we believe they could have information to help our ongoing enquiries.”

Appeal for witnesses following concern for safety of woman in Liverpool city centre
Detectives have issued CCTV images for witnesses to come forward who may have seen a woman in distress in Liverpool city centre last month.
At around 3.30am on Sunday, December 1 it was reported that a woman was sitting down on Fleet Street when a group of people went to help her. Detectives are appealing for people who were in the vicinity at that time to come forward with information which may assist with the investigation.
The woman was located at the time and is receiving support from our specialist officers following a report that a sexual assault took place later that day, and we have charged a man with rape.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Parry said: “We are keen for the group of people in the CCTV images to come forward and help us with enquiries which will hopefully help understand what has happened and assist the investigation.
“We are keen to stress that the people in the images are not in any trouble and there is no suggestion that they have done anything wrong. We would like them to come forward to assist with our enquiries.
“We recognise the image is not of the best quality but think that you would be able to identify yourself if you remembered the incident on Fleet Street last month.”

CCTV appeal following assault in Liverpool city centre
Police have issued CCTV images of a male we would like to trace following a serious assault in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of this morning, Sunday, January 26.
Police were contacted at just before 2.50am following reports a 20 year-old man had been assaulted by another male on Fleet Street and suffered a slash wound to his face which required hospital treatment. He has since been released from hospital.
The male is believed to have made off toward Back Colquitt Street. An investigation is underway and CCTV and witness enquiries are in the process of being carried out. Police have issued CCTV images of a male we would like to speak to as detectives believe he could have information which is vital to the investigation.
Detective Inspector Ruth Tickle said: “This was a shocking assault which has left a young male with a significant injury to his face. At this stage we believe the injured man may have tried to intervene in a disturbance when he was assaulted.
“We are keen to speak to the male pictured as we believe he could assist with our enquiries. I would ask anyone with information about the incident or believes they can identify the male to contact us as a matter of urgency.
"We are determined to find the person responsible and we will always take positive action whenever we receive information on the possession and use of knives and other weapons in the communities of Merseyside.

CCTV appeal following shop robbery in Halewood
Detectives have issued CCTV images of three men who could have information that may assist with their enquiries following robbery of an off-licence in Halewood yesterday, Sunday, January 26.
At around 9.15pm, it was reported that three men all dressed in black and wearing balaclava's entered Discount Booze Store on Wood Road. One offender then grabbed hold of the shop assistant while the other two men punched and kicked him. They then opened the cash register and stole money and electric vapes from the shop.
The three offenders ran off towards Higher Road. One man was reported to have a Liverpool accent while the other two had a Southern accent, possibly from London or Essex.
The victim sustained bruising and swelling to his face, head, neck and shoulders which didn’t require medical treatment. Extensive CCTV and witness enquiries have been conducted, and detectives have issued CCTV images of a man they believe could assist in their investigation.
Detective Inspector Richie Shillito said: “This was a very distressing experience for the victim who was left in a state of shock. We understand that the images do not show the men’s faces as they’re wearing balaclavas, however people may recognise the clothing especially when they ran off down the road.
“I am appealing to anyone who recognises the three males to please contact us. We believe they could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries. We also encourage people to come forward if you know anything about the incident which will help with our investigation. Someone may have seen three men running along Higher Road, Torrington Drive, Kylemore Way and Boundary Farm Road.”

CCTV appeal following assault on taxi driver in Liverpool city centre
Detectives have issued CCTV images of a man who could assist with their enquiries following of a report of an assault of a taxi driver in Liverpool city centre. At around 11.30pm on Saturday, February 15 two taxis were involved in a no damage collision on Paradise Street and a passive verbal argument between the two drivers ensued.
It was further reported that the passenger from one taxi got out of the vehicle and became verbally aggressive to the other taxi driver, and then punched him in the face multiple times. The victim sustained bruises to his face and a cut to his lip from the assault.
The offender then made off from the scene. Extensive CCTV and witness enquiries have been conducted, and detectives have issued a CCTV images of a man they believe could assist in their investigation.
Detective Inspector Steve Street said: “This was a nasty assault which left the victim with a black eye and cut to his lip, and it could have been a lot worse. This incident took place at a time where it would have been busy with people enjoying the nightlife who will have seen the incident take place on Paradise Street.
“If you were in the vicinity at that time and witnessed the assault then please get in touch. I am also appealing to the man featured in the images, or anyone who recognises him, to come forward. We believe he could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.”

Appeal for witnesses after bike robbery
Police are releasing CCTV images and appealing for witnesses and footage of a robbery which occurred at secure student accommodation.
At around 11pm on Saturday, January 18 two men illegally entered the student grounds at Atlantic Point, Naylor Street, Liverpool. Two men are alleged to have used bolt cutters to remove locks from two bikes. The suspects then make their way to the main gates and are unsuccessful in opening them.
One suspect climbed the gate while the other handed him the bikes which were dropped on the other side. During this a safety team member tried to detain the suspects who used the bolt cutters to try and hit him, one of the suspects then threatened to stab him. The safety team member let go of the suspects and they made off towards Scotland Road.
Detective Inspector Christopher Carlin said: “This is a serious crime where the suspects have used violence to get away. They have left the safety team member, who was simply doing his job, traumatised and shaken by their actions.“Our enquiries are ongoing so I’d like to appeal to anyone who has yet to come forward to do so, as any information, images or footage could be extremely useful to this investigation. The suspects left a lock at the scene which is now with forensics to help us identify them. We also encourage owners mark and register their bikes at the Bike Register here: www.bikeregister.com to provide additional reassurance in the event of theft.”

CCTV image appeal after city centre assault
Detectives are releasing a CCTV image of a man who may be able to assist enquiries into an assault at a bar in Liverpool city centre.
The 20-year-old was attacked in Bar Bar Night Club on Fleet Street at around 2am on Sunday November 10, 2024. The victim was out with friends and while leaving the club, a man punched him several times in the face. He fell to the floor where the suspect kicked him in the face and head.
The 20-year-old sustained several face fractures which required hospital treatment. Detective Constable Jan Lea said: “The victim has sustained serious injuries which have left him in pain and worried about going out.
“We are appealing for witnesses and have released CCTV images of a man we believe could have information that could help our enquiries into this attack. I would also urge anyone else who has information on the assault to please come forward and help with our enquiries.”

CCTV appeal following assault in Liscard
Police have released an image of a man who could have information following an assault in Liscard. At around 2am on Saturday, November 30 2024, it was reported that a man aged in his 20s was punched by another male on Liscard Way, near Cash Convertors, and continually assaulted after falling to the ground.
The victim suffered a broken jaw and the suspect rode off on a pedal bike in the direction of Seaview Road. It’s believed that the victim and the suspect had a previous altercation inside the Duke of Wellington earlier the same evening.
Enquires have been ongoing since the incident and officers are keen to speak with the man pictured as he could have information. Detective Inspector Sarah Wilkinson said: “This was a nasty assault that left the victim with a broken jaw.
“Since the incident was first reported to us, we have been making ongoing inquiries, which includes looking at possible CCTV and witnesses. We believe the man pictured could have information to assist our inquiries. If you recognise him, or you recognise yourself in this image, please get in touch.”
