A GROUP in Moreton is collecting Christmas trees from residents to raise money to improve the community.
2023 is the fourth year Moreton in Bloom has collected Christmas trees to raise money to improve the Moreton community.
They've grown their service since 2020 and it has become a community effort to process around 300 trees.
They now use three collection vans provided by Birkenhead Van Hire and McKay’s Waste.
Their trees are dropped at McGreals Garden Centre on Leasowe Road and chipped by RM Tree Surgeons.

All four businesses provide their help for free.
A spokesperson for Moreton in Bloom said: "This is one of the activities our volunteers love to do, trying to locate the tree and seeing how many we can squeeze into our vans.
"We do have a good giggle along the way.
"Trees are donated to animal sanctuaries, chipped for chicken bedding and the remainder is turned into Biofuel.

"Collections are either £8 or £11 depending on the size of the trees."
Booking closes at midnight on Thursday, January 4 to allow time for route planning.
Christmas trees must be left in a clear visible location at the front of your house. Trees must be out before 8am on January 6.
