These iconic photographs will take you on a tour of life in 1980s Merseyside.

The photos, which were taken between 1980 and 1989, show just how much the region has changed in that time, from lost shops and nightclubs to the city's ever changing skyline.

One photo taken in July 1984 shows the site of Liverpool's International Garden Festival from above, while another from that summer shows people enjoying a music festival in Sefton Park.

Other photos that will bring memories flooding back for people who grew up in the 80s include photos of traders at the Heritage Market on Stanley Dock and the start of the much-loved soap Brookside.
