Experts at CasionTop3 have gathered the most popular old consoles and games between the fifth and eighth generation. They have filtered by the highest price available for every popular game on a popular UK e-commerce site.
The fifth generation era of video game consoles lasted from about 1993 to 2001, and is also referred to as the 32-bit era, the 64-bit era, and the 3D era. This generation was shaped by three dominant consoles: the Sega Saturn, the Sony PlayStation, and the Nintendo 64.
The experts rank Halo: Combat Evolved (2001) for Xbox One at the top of games being sold for the most money. The online highest selling price for this game is as high as £650. The second game going for an impressive price is the PlayStation 2 edition of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (2004), the online highest selling price is up to £400.
Other PlayStation 2 games included in the top 10 list are Shadow of Colossus (2005). This action-adventure game has been listed for £299 online. Kingdom Hearts, a 2002 action game for PS2 was the fourth video game between the fifth and eight generation being sold for the most money. The game is one of the oldest on the list but has a highest selling price online of £250.
Sega consoles including Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast were also part of the huge change for gaming as it experimented with 3D graphics. Virtua fighter 2 released on Sega Saturn in 1994 has a highest selling price online of £247. Sonic is synonymous with Sega and their gaming consoles. The 1998 release of Sonic Adventure has a highest selling price online of £200. Below is a full list:
